Northern Beaches Stone is a stonemasonry business run by Blake Cooper, a licensed stonemason who was born and raised on Sydney's Northern Beaches.
Meet the founder
Blake Cooper, Founder & Managing Director
Blake Cooper grew up on the Northern Beaches, surrounded by Sydney sandstone, from the headlands to the old walls and steps of local gardens. He was drawn to sandstone structures and architectural landscapes from a young age, and in 2004 he started learning the craft as an apprentice stonemason.
As an apprentice, Blake was praised by his peers for his creativity and technical skill. More than 20 years after he started, he leads a business that builds and restores stonework across the Northern Beaches and North Shore.
Today the business takes on residential, commercial, high-end construction and heritage work. That includes structural landscaping and retaining walls, garden features, outdoor living spaces, fireplaces and other internal stonework, letterboxes and stone restoration. Most of it is in Sydney sandstone, alongside bluestone and travertine.
Clients know Blake for his craftsmanship and for a friendly, professional way of working. One homeowner who had two sets of old sandstone stairs restored said his communication was exceptional and that the old sandstone looked like new.
In 2022 Blake featured in The Tradie magazine's "Tradie Tough Test" video, putting Cement Australia's General Purpose Cement to the test on a stonework job.

We're based in Narrabeen and work across Sydney's Northern Beaches, from Manly to Palm Beach, and the Lower and Upper North Shore. Other parts of Sydney by arrangement.
We also work with builders, architects and landscape designers on residential, commercial and heritage projects. Working with us on your build.
